VSC BOARD MINUTES 5/8/07

Treasures report: Richard, Carla, Bob, and Marcy will be receiving their 1099's late. The penalty fee will be covered VSC.
 We will advertise for a new book keeper, one who knows quick books and excell. Web page to include number of hours needed per week. Bill provided a detailed report to all board members of cash flow and assets.

Publicity report:   No action

Design: for shoe rack and storage has been drawn and sent to Datta.  The design will also be submitted to the board for funding request.  Thank you to Carla for the clock and Buddha.

Facilities: Alice will meet with Ilana and Datta concerning the bill.  Alice will meet with Judy Cohen, attny, to discuss questions about the bill and will come back to the board for any action.  Ann Russell will continue to work with Carol in shared capacities as Facilities Manager indefinitely.  Ann and Carol will review the job discription and revise it.  We must turn the bathroom lights off after the night sits.

Programs:  Retreat has room for 1 or 2 people, it will be full. $1,350.00 requests for scholarships will be covered. Carla's request for a full scholarship for a student was accepted.  Board retreat will be July 14th.  Bob Stahl will have a one day retreat June 9th.  Men's retreat had 11 men.  Early Sunday morning sit had 8 people and 20-30 people for the family program following.  Vesak will be May 31st, 5:30 Qigong, 6 dinner, 7 sit and Buddha blessing, 7:40 community meeting.  We will plan some history, an economic presentation, survey results, and have small group input.

Survey: We have initiate tea and introduction of board members. 

Final comment: Bruce will need to be replaced on the fund raising committee.
