Minutes 3/12/07

Discussion of Policy setting: Policy: Policies will be clearly stated and agreed upon everyone at the end of the meeting. Policies will be printed in bold in the minutes.

There will be a place developed on the web for policies in order to make them readily available to all board members.

Policy for displays: The display area on the table will be available to VSC and Dana based groups meeting regularly at the VSC Center.

Policy for minutes: The minutes will be sent to all board members for approval. The final minutes will be sent to Ann Z to be posted.

Treasure: Per Dan letters went out for the 2006 Dana contributions. The financial statement for last month will be distributed by Bill.

Publicity: Carla is delegating responsibilities. Discussion lead to another policy being set.

Email policy: There is a Master Email list for VSC. There are affinity groups within the sangha. The Master Email list will not be automatically used by the affinity groups. The affinity groups will use their own email lists and their specific group title.

Design Committee: did not meet, authorization of money by request is now available per the board.

Facilities Coordinator: Job description refinement and posting of job to be done by Mary Grace, Ann Z, and Bill C.

Alice emailed the property manager, Elizabeth about the key. Ann R re emailed about the key and landscaping. There is a requisition to the owners for money for landscaping and a question of " who is responsible for the litter in the parking lot."

5/23/07 Book event, John Maulkin is requesting VSC sponsor a book event being held at an off site venue. The donations from the profits would go to anti war efforts. VSC will not be sponsoring this event. 

4/10/07 Llama Marut, Bruce and Jill will attend.

4/28/07 Zen women, Shinshu and Jaku, 8-12, Margaret will attend

6/16/07 Zen women, Shinshu and Jaku, 8-12, Ann Z tentatively will attend

Board members will report back if there is a problem. Board members are not opener/closers.

Mary Lou will arrange for opener/closers for Donald Rothburg.

Programs: nothing to report.

Fundraising: The Letter is to be placed on futons at VSC and Dharma Punx sits. Next email: Men’s retreat, survey, and board member search for 4 members.
